Alexander McQueen : Fashion Visionary

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

This book is a retrospective of the late McQueen’s innovative designs. It represent and tell the story of the legacy that he has left behind. Beginning with his childhood, reliving the lavish designs he created. This book is a tribute to the bold, fashion icon that he was. LONG. LIVE. MCQUEEN.

PROJECT CONCEPT/ DESIGN GOALS: 

The inspiration and design concept is inspired by his exhibition called Savage Beauty that held at the Metropolitan Art Museum. It opened a year after he took his life. It is kind of dark yet innovative and bold. It takes you and captures you. I wanted to design concept to be dramatic, yet tasteful. He wanted this collection to be inspired by Romantic Gothic. He stated that people found his work as aggressive, but he felt that it was romantic, with a dark twist which we all know love can be sometimes. So, I want to capture those soft, yet dark color palettes. I wanted this book to have a dark themes that was inspired from his work, but presenting them in a way of sartorial beauty.
